About This Ministry:

Douglas Earls, known to many as 1ne Chance (Chance the Artist), was born and raised in Asheville North Carolina in a single-parent household with three brothers and two sisters. Douglas Earls (1ne Chance) began writing raps and recording music at the tender age of 12. He wasn’t raised in the church, but was introduced to Christ at the age of 13. Shortly after, he began running the streets and hanging out with the local drug dealers. After dropping out of school at the age of 16, Douglas Earls (1ne Chance) became more consumed by the streets and all that came with it. During this time, writing rap music became an outlet for 1ne Chance to channel a lot of his anger and frustrations primarily derived from his father’s abandonment.

Douglas Earls (1ne Chance) was in and out of the court system for 7 years before rededicating his life to Christ at the age of 21. “I was tired of looking over my shoulders every second of the day, running from the police, getting drunk, high, chasing money and women. I felt there was more to my life then selling drugs. I wanted peace of mind and I knew the only way to get that was to surrender my life to Christ”, Chance says.

In 2008 Douglas Earls (1ne Chance) dropped his first Rap CD as a Gospel Rap Artist called Fix-Tape the Truth Chapter 1, which has produced over 17,000 copies in the streets alone. Douglas Earls (1ne Chance) currently resides in Atlanta Georgia, and is actively involved in the church and serving his community. Chance states, “God pulled me out of the streets not for me to stay away, but to reach back to those who are where I once was”.
